Their habits do not cease to amuse me … in the square, under a tall tree, they have erected a tower in which moving pictures are shown; unlike those we know, these films concern themselves solely with shots of photographers squinting through cameras at other photographers with cameras. Many scenes are made at once in this way; that is, camera-man-A takes a picture of camera-man B, who is taking a picture of camera-man A — meanwhile C camera is shooting both A and B, and is in turn shot by D, who has been in range of B and C — while cameras E, F, and G, etc. The villagers have their stars just as we do; this season it is photographer L, whose facial contortions, though somewhat obscured by his camera, did amuse me some what.
